In the scripts, when Lily thinks, I’ve written it in first person, italicized. When voice actors are used these italicized parts can be read by the actor who is the voice of Lily.
When she was just the head her face contorted into the face like a gargoyle and when she is animal minded she still looks that way. Twisted, dirty, smelly, all the un-feminine things. Don't let viewers suspect this will ever change. It is only when she gets her name back that her face undergoes a profound change back to that of a girl. Go to extremes with this because she will look at herself in horror and run in shame, when she can speak again.
When you draw the Precreated World with Lily awake in it for the first time, start showing all the Messenger graffiti.
She will not keep a diary (too conventional) but she will have periods of thinking things through that will be very much like writing in a diary. Still have Lily think to herself like she is writing in a diary. She can introduce things that are not depicted as scenes. Lily will think things through for the reader, make conclusions for the reader.
Remember that Lily is not only adjusting to the Precreated World but to living in the city on her own.
She asks all the questions the reader is asking and she does not get any answers.
She isn't street wise yet!
When Lily goes from pure animal to human, it creates a vulnerability for her. The weather the filth, was never on her mind before. The only thing on her mind was hunger and protecting herself. When she becomes human she is depressed and discussed with herself. The shame, afraid of people seeing her. She can't think about eating or taking care of herself. The weather brings her down.
Show the sex reality for Lily. She is a young, beautiful woman. She was out in the country. Advanced on, stared at, followed... That is part of her feminine side. More love interests, it is a factor of her beauty.
Lily makes a big deal about not stealing and not lying and not being mean. She always makes a big deal about it and it gets in her way and causes her more problems.
Lily is thrown into this world where everyone is a mind-fuck and Lily struggles to maintain her sense of what is real. Her inner decorum.
Make Lily's reality more about being homeless.
This is a good time to develop Lily's cute side, in contrast to her circumstances.
When you're drawing Lily with her flowers in her hair, remember, bigger than big. Like 4, over the top, crazy obnoxious and yet she is the humble one, the one slipping through the cracks.
